The goal of the Development Services Department is to make the township more competitive regarding economic development activities, and more efficient in land use / planning, code enforcement, and zoning issues.
The department is managed by the Development Services director, who works closely with the township administrator and Board of Trustees on all development issues within the township. The enforcement and administering of township codes, regulations, and permit requests rests with the code enforcement officers and Development Services clerk, who report to the director of the department.
Boards & Commission
The Board of Trustees appoint local residents to serve on a five-member Board of Zoning Appeals and a five-member Zoning Commission, which are responsible for hearing cases regarding zoning variances, conditional use requests, and map and text changes to the Springfield Township Zoning Resolution.
All development related issues, concerns, and/or ideas should be forwarded to the Development Services director. In addition, all zoning or property maintenance related questions should be sent to the Development Services clerk and code enforcement officers.
