Christopher D. Gilbert was appointed as Springfield Township Administrator effective March 24, 2018, after having served as Assistant Township Administrator since December of 2006. Prior to that, he served as the Township’s Director of Development Services for three years. Before coming to Springfield Township, he served as the Assistant Administrator and Development Director in Fairfield Township (Butler County, OH).

As Township Administrator, Mr. Gilbert serves as the Chief Administrative Officer appointed by the Township Board of Trustees, and is the principal adviser to the Board concerning all operational matters pertaining to the overall direction and administration of the Township government overseeing nearly 170 employees and a budget of approximately $28 million.

Mr. Gilbert has a Master of Public Administration degree from Northern Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University, majoring in Public Administration. He is a Credentialed Manager and member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). He also is a member of the Ohio City Managers Association, the Ohio Township Association, and the Cincinnati Area Managers Association.
